For the past ten years Sheila has taught creative writing to all sorts of people, most of whom thought they couldn’t write, but were delighted to discover the voice inside. These have ranged from octogenarians at a local day centre to primary school children unearthing family stories about recipes. Last year she worked with a group of interpreters to produce ‘In Other Words’. But her longest running commitment has been with Write to Life at Freedom from Torture.
